The following information is about different Springville Band Boosters Board of Directors and Committee Oversight positions. This information includes a description of the responsibilities of each position, the person who currently holds the position, and contact information (if available). Some committees need volunteers to help out. If you are interested in any positions, please reach out to one of the Board of Directors or that committee chair.

  • Position currently held by: Monica Thach (will be vacant for 2024-2025 school year)
  • This position is a voting member of the executive board.
  • Chairperson of the Executive Board
    • Maintains close contact with Band Director, Board Members, and School Administration to assess needs and ways to support the organization.
    • Supervises the affairs of the Boosters and the activities of the officers.
    • Sets agenda and presides over all Band Booster meetings.
    • Sets the fundraising calendar.
    • Communicates with the Committees.
    • Oversees any legal and regulatory matters.
    • Oversees the long term planning and vision of the organization.
  • Senior Student Scholarship Chair
    • Selects the committee in early April.
    • Distributes applications to students in middle of April with required return by end of April.
    • Conducts interviews the first half of May (prior to senior awards night).

  • This position is a voting member of the executive board.
  • Board representative and liaison to the Springville Middle School band.
    • Coordinates with the Quarterback Club for fall senior recognition night.
    • Coordinates Homecoming Day student meals and drinks.
    • Solicits parent involvement from Springville Middle School.
    • Assists with coordinating Springville Middle School spring field trip with band director.
    • Coordinates the year end horn and adoption sale at Springville Middle School.
    • Assists with Springville Middle School concerts.

  • Position currently held by: Alyssa Hare
  • This position is a voting member of the executive board.
  • Responsible for managing and directing the organization’s internal and external communications with help from the Band Director.
    • Takes Booster meeting minutes and distributes the minutes.
    • Maintains member information/database.
    • Maintains the organization’s online calendar.
    • Coordinates with the Band Director and other committees to distribute any announcements, forms, and/or letters.
    • Divides and posts booster member obligations with weekly operations – including concessions manager and committee chairs.
    • Sets up all Sign Up Genius sign-ups for volunteers – away game bus chaperones, concessions, trash pickup, bus chaperones for competitions, etc…

  • Position currently held by: Drew Griffin (will be vacant for 2024-2025 school year)
  • This position is a voting member of the executive board.
  • Board representative and concessions manager.
    • First week of August: summer concession stand preparation – includes degreasing/cleaning floors and appliances.
    • Includes providing concessions for all football home games – varsity, JV, and junior high.
  • Responsible for placing all concession orders.
    • Coca Cola – weekly planning and ordering.
    • Wood Fruitticher – weekly planning and ordering.
    • Sam’s Club – weekly purchases.
  • Responsible for stocking any deliveries and purchases BEFORE the night of the game.
    • Wood Fruitticher delivery and food stocking prior to Friday night.
    • Coke delivery stocking prior to Friday night.
  • Responsible for pre-game setup.
    • Communicates call time and volunteer needs with Communications Director.
    • Provides front gate a copy of concession workers who get free admission to game.
    • Assigns cooks for the season and goes over the cooks duties.
    • Oversees cooks to ensure enough food is prepped, cooked, wrapped, and ready.
    • Oversees concession volunteers and assigns the volunteers a “station.”
    • Oversees ensuring that outside tables with condiments and candy/drink area are set up.
    • Ensures garbage bags with bungie cords are on all trash cans.
  • Responsible for golf cart storage and maintenance.
    • Assigns two volunteers for concession runs between lower and upper concessions.
  • Responsible for post-game cleanup.
    • Communicates call time and ending time for garbage pickup volunteers with Communications Director.

  • Position currently held by: Kristie Royal (will be vacant for 2024-2025 school year)
  • This position is a voting member of the executive board.
  • Responsible for charge of and custody of organization’s funds, accounts, and securities.
    • Oversees financial reporting and banking.
    • Supervises all money, including counting and depositing money for events (concessions, fundraisers, etc..).
    • Pays all bills related to the organization.
    • Collects band fees from all current members.
    • Files taxes and licenses.
    • Communicates with the CPA (accountant) for the organization.
    • Oversees and runs ledger account.
    • Assists and offers guidance to fundraising committee.
    • Manages and inventories all of the organization’s assets.
    • Manages and checks the organization’s post office box.
    • Keeps financial files and all legal documents.

  • Committee chair is responsible for the organization and inventory of all marching band uniforms including: maintenance, cleaning, repair, ordering, fitting, and distributing.
  • Current Chair: Michelle Green
    • Responsible for overseeing all volunteer chaperones.
    • Responsible for informing volunteer chaperones the expectations and assignments.
      • Pre-performance assignment: chaperones need to assist with student hydration and first aid.
      • Bus assignments will include at least 3 chaperones per bus – one each for front, middle, and back of bus.
      • Hands out chaperone badges.
      • Performance assignment: chaperones need to assist with student hydration and first aid, escort band members to the restroom, and assist with getting students to and from performance.
      • Post-performance assignment: assist students with bleacher cleanup and make sure all students get back on the bus.
    • Volunteer chaperones:
      • Must have current background check and have been cleared to be a chaperone.
      • Chaperones are needed for any offsite events where students will need to travel away from the school.
      • Volunteers need to arrive 30 minutes prior to the Band Director’s set call time.
      • Chairperson will go over specific expectations and assignments.
      • Stays at the school until all band members have been picked up or the Band Director dismisses chaperones.
      • Turn in chaperone badges to Chair before leaving.

  • Responsible for product sales and fundraising ideas for Board of Directors to vote on.
    • Sheet sale
    • Cheesecake sale
    • Swag sale
    • SNAP fundraiser
  • Must communicate with the Communications Director with regards to sending out information on fundraisers or creating pledge sheets/flyers and Treasurer regarding money being turned in for fundraisers.
  • Also serves as a chair of the following events:
    • Pancake breakfast-Bake sale
    • Yard Sale
    • Home Tour
    • Rock-a-Thon
    • Queen of Hearts

  • Acquires meal donations and provides student lunches during band camp.
  • Communicates with the Communications Director if there are any volunteer needs to have a Sign Up Genius set up.
  • Communicates with the Treasurer if any money is needed for meals.

  • Maintains the website for the organization: springvillebands.org.
  • Provides up-to-date information on website and maintains band calendar.

    • All practice field prep and maintenance – including bugs, weeds, mowing, and paint for lines.

  • Responsibilities include:
    • Video performances and events.
    • Photograph performances and events.
    • Post on social media platforms.
    • Go LIVE on social media platforms.

  • Responsibilities include:
    • Ensures all trailer maintenance is completed.
    • Verifies there are drivers when needed.

  • 2024 Show Volunteers:
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Must commit to be at all band performances for football games and competitions
    • Assists with front ensemble (instruments and equipment on and off the field).
    • Assists with Drum Major stands (roll out, stand up, check stability, pull down, roll off field).
    • Assists with any necessary props.
